At one time, maybe a hundred years ago, Sturgeon Creek had sturgeons. These days, the city has to stock it with the species so the creek will live up to its name. The pile of boulders was added a few years ago, and is known as a fish riffle. It helps the fish with their spawning... if you show up at the right time of year, you'll see an orgy of sturgeon-on-sturgeon action! |
