An apartment block near Portage Ave and Sturgeon Creek. It's being illuminated by the nearby Car World auto mall, the lot of which is flooded with mercury vapour lighting. When I'm taking night shots, I'm always happy to see mercury lighting. It's a more white color and way superior to the pissy yellow of sodium lamps. I've noticed that odd streetlamps in residential areas are mercury... I wonder if sodium is being phased out and replaced with mercury? That would be nice. |
