Here's the front door of the Richardson Centre for Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals (RCFFN), at the University of Manitoba SmartPark. It was very kind of the architect to provide a little awning to keep the rain off. A more cynical person would interpret the slablike awning as a statement, along the lines of "HEY LOOKIT US, WE GOT RICH 'CAUSE PEOPLE GET SICK!!!" The most amazing part of this picture is how the potted carnations basically render the slab invisible. Good call, architect! Tomorrow's pic: "The Side Door". |
